What is Krenite S?
Krenite® S is a brush control agent for the control and/or suppression of a broad spectrum of undesirable woody brush species.
What is the active ingredient in Krenite S?
The active ingredient in Krenite S herbicide is ammonium salt of fosamine [ethyl hydrogen (aminocarbonyl) phosphonate].
How is Krenite S applied?
Krenite S herbicide is a water-soluble liquid that is diluted with water and applied as a foliar spray. It may be applied using high-volume or low-volume ground sprayers, as well as aircraft (helicopter only). Application equipment must be calibrated before making applications of Krenite S.
Where can Krenite S be applied?
Krenite S herbicide may be applied in pine plantations and non-crop sites, including highway rights-of-way, industrial sites, utility rights-of-way, railroad rights-of-way, and storage areas, and for site preparation. It’s also effective as a side-trim product for utility, highway and pipeline rights-of-way.
How does Krenite S work?
The primary ingredient in Krenite S herbicide functions as a plant growth regulator and bud inhibitor, and is sometimes referred to as a “dormancy enforcer”. Deciduous plants treated with Krenite S generally retain normal foliage for the remainder of the growing season, but in the following spring, buds either fail to open at all, or produce only spindly, miniature leaves. Evergreen plants such as pines show response soon after application.
What brush species does Krenite S control?
Krenite S herbicide controls and/or suppresses a broad spectrum of undesirable woody brush species, including the following. See the product label for a complete list. Do not use on crops.
Brush controlled: Alder (red), ash (white), blackberry, black locust, eastern cottonwood, loblolly pine, oaks, sweetgum, wild grape, eastern white pine and more
Brush suppressed: American basswood, black cherry, bindweed, chokecherry, elm, hickory, red maple, winged elm and more
Does rainfall have any impact on the effectiveness of Krenite S?
The effectiveness of Krenite S herbicide may be reduced if rainfall occurs on the same day following treatment.
Can Krenite S be applied to water?
Krenite S can be applied near or around bodies of water, but not applied directly to water. Do not apply Krenite S herbicide to natural or man-made bodies of water, such as lakes, reservoirs, ponds, streams and canals. Krenite S may be applied in pine plantations and non-crop sites that contain areas of temporary surface water caused by collection of water between planting beds, in equipment ruts, or in other depressions created by management activities. It is permissible to treat intermittent drainage, intermittently flooded low-lying sites, seasonally dry flood plains and transitional areas between upland and lowland sites when no water is present. It is also permissible to treat marshes, swamps and bogs after water has receded, as well as seasonally dry flood deltas.
Can Krenite S be mixed with other herbicides?
Krenite S herbicide may be tank-mixed with other herbicides and/or adjuvant registered for use in pine plantations and non-crop sites. Follow all use directions, precautions, and restrictions on labels of tank-mixed products.
