Oakmont Country Club is revered as the destination for championship golf. It has hosted more combined USGA and PGA championships than any other course in the U.S. See how they used Indemnify to solve an unexpected issue of high nematode populations.

The Challenge
Oakmont's putting greens and unique Poa annua were not responding to their regular turf programs. They discovered they had very high counts of nematodes. It was a bit of a surprise, because in Pittsburgh you are not typically faced with nematode challenges. But over the last 10-15 years, there has been more and more occurrences of nematodes being identified in the Northern tier of the country. Oakmont needed to determine how they could control the nematodes and have the healthiest turf with the best playability on a daily basis.

The Solution
Oakmont partnered with Bayer and their team of skilled, trained researchers to put a program together using Indemnify. Indemnify is a next-generation nematicide that offers control of key nematodes on warm- and cool-season grasses. It improves root growth and overall turfgrass health, translating to better playability with improved wear tolerance.
The Results
Oakmont achieved the best rooting on their putting greens they have ever seen. And by using Indemnify, they maintained the positive results all through the summer. It was very easy for Oakmont to incorporate Indemnify into their current program. Because of their success, Indemnify became one of their foundational products very quickly.
